The Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) established the Office for Social Communications in 1966. The Office works in close collaboration with the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Rome, the FABC Office of Social Communications (FABC-OSC), the Regional centres/ offices and Secretaries of Social Communications established under the Regional Bishops’ Councils, the national organisations in the church like Signis-India, Indian Catholic Press Association, and other media organisations. The CBCI OSC is at the service of the dioceses in India functioning through the Regional Bishops’ Councils and the Regional Commissions. The Commission is headed by a Bishop-in-Charge, two member Bishops and a National Secretary. The CBCI-OSC has its office at the NISCORT, A-2, Sector I, Vaishali, Ghaziabad – 201012 (UP), NCR-Delhi.
